Tell me about icing/frosting/sugary stuff that goes on top of cake.

How can I make some that is tall and fluffy, or the kind that goes on fluffy but then dries so it doesn't go everywhere, or some other kind that looks pretty and tastes nice?

Describe your best icing/frosting stuff and how to make it.

It'll be worth it, I promise. :o

Can you use buttercream and use a large piping tube to pipe in swirls? it will look fluffy but dry firmish so it will be quite stable onces its sat a while...

jangly · 07/02/2011 18:01

American frosting would be good uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/607382

Someone on here once suggested buttercream mixed with crushed rasberies to take the icky sweetness away...sounds nice to me! Buttercream is easy to make and easy to pipe or spread...if you want it all fluffy just ob it on with a spoon and use a knife to "arrange" it in peaks.

SeeJaneKick · 25/02/2011 19:24

Or they sell topping like that in big pots in Morrisons if you have one. It's a bit over sweet but it's sy to spread.
