Try here for inspiration. I normally slice it up and fry in a dry pan and add to salads!

Chorizo - slice it
1 tin of tomatoes
1 onion
mushrooms
1 carrot
1 stick celery
garlic
rice
slosh of wine?

Put on water for rice...or pasta if prefer
Fry gently chopped onion & chorizo - no oil req.
chuck in sliced mushrooms (absorb the the fat)
tip in tinned toms & bit of water
chuck in sliced carrot & celery & garlic
add wine if fancy it
Put rice into water
All done when rice is ready

Fry it up with potatoes and onion, add a tin of tomatoes if you have any, but not essential.

Or pizza?

Catsmamma · 27/01/2011 14:47

chorizo omelette

tomatoey soup/pasta sauce

something risotto-ey

Ohforfoxsake · 27/01/2011 14:56

Fry it, eat it. Mop up chorizo oil with crusty bread. Oh yum!

LoopyLoopsHasComeBackBrighter · 27/01/2011 14:59

There are so many things you can do with chorizo (creamy pasta springs to mind) but I always think it's a waste, as it is a million times better put into a hot pan (sliced) to brown slightly on each side and served as is. MMMMMmmm I want some.

We were meant to be having bolognese, but I forgot to take the mince out teh freezer Grin. So Dh said "well can't you do something with that chorizo"> I did feel like telling him to stuff it where the sun don't shine though

Catsmamma · 27/01/2011 15:08

oh make the bolognese and defrost the mince in the pan, it'll be fine!

dh's fave is chorizo and scallops, but tis not a stand by suggestion

SquigglePigs · 27/01/2011 15:08

Paella:

Chicken, prawns and chorizo.
Peppers and onions.

Fry it all off til browned/softened, with some saffron if you have it, turmeric if not.

Throw in the rice and plenty of stock (and a bay leaf if you have some lying around) and cook til the rice is cooked (half hour ish depending on type of rice.

You can pretty much put whatever you want in, so if you don't have any of the above, use whatever you have in.

Fry chorizo with sliced boiled potatoes.
Poach smoked haddock fillet.

Put on plate with a poached egg on top, garnish with chives. Serve with green salad and a nice Sauvignon.

Mmmmmmmm. I wish I had a chorizo...

Deaddei · 27/01/2011 15:13

PAsta bake-chorizo, toms, spinach, garlic, bake in oven with cheese.
DH likes cheese and chorizo on toast.

Ohforfoxsake · 27/01/2011 15:22

Yes, make the bolognese with the frozen mince.

But now I REALLY want fried chorizo, crusty bread and gooey stinky cheese. Dammit!!

SecretSquirrel193 · 27/01/2011 15:27
