Don't know Dulwich at all and apparently am eating there (somewhere) tonight. Please will you suggest something? Thanks in advance!

You could go to the local forum and ask on there. You'll get lots of good advice.

whoops. x posted. you're on your own then. I can only do the bits near Peckham Grin.

Village proper doesn't have many options but the pub is a great old proper one that does very good food. It is called the Crown and Greyhound, but known as "the Dog". I think the only other options in the Village are a pizza express and maybe a cafe rouge and then a place where you can get coffees and pastries.

Many more options in East Dulwich and I've always rated Franklins and the Lord Palmerston.

In West Dulwich, the Rosendale is very good pub restaurant that specialises in meat.

Hmm, hungry again.

Loads of great restaurants on Lordship Lane (East Dulwich), the village proper is more limited. Not sure what Bel Air house is like these days, it has probably changed names but used to be v nice (and swanky).
If you could bear to venture to SE15 Wink, Ganapati is the most fabulous Indian restaurant.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 18/01/2011 14:42

Quattro - where did you end up?

cat - I miss Ganapati now. And SE15 in general.

thecatatemygymsuit · 18/01/2011 14:46

Just realised this is redundant advice as you have already had your meal!
Charlotte - you are an ex Peckhamite then? Ganapati is still great and always totally full, annoyingly. It's my local restaurant!

Quattrocento · 18/01/2011 22:23

You are spot on! The options in the village boiled down to a Pizza Express (couldn't go there sans kids) a Cafe Rouge and the pub. Went for the pub which was absolutely fine!

Thanks for all your help!

Blimey it's a bit of a trek though, from the City.
