left over stilton... what to do? some sort of soup?

celery and stilton or perhaps brocolli and stilton
anyone any tried and tested recipes they would like to share.

Cut it up into small portions and freeze it. Its perfectly good and great for throwing in frozen for a quick red wine and stilton sauce over a pork steak or melted on a chicken breast. Plus if you let it thaw out its fine for just eating on its own.

A small piece can add a nice touch to a mushroom risotto, with a splash of white wine.

Stilton and broccoli soup - delicious. Lots of recipes if you search on line.

Or stilton and celery if you aren't a broccoli fan.

chicken pie!...shove it in amongst the chicken

or a cauliflower cheese with a difference, again, just poke it in amongst the cauli and tip the sauce over as usual.

celery and stilton soup is gorrrrrgeous, cook as for normal celery soup, then stir through stilton at the end with a little cream if you are feeling wicked.

celery and stilton gratin also very good

or a tart perhaps - a shortcrust pastry base with eggs/milk/cream plus the stilton crumbled over and veg of choice, precooked eg broccoli/leeks/whatever

or a puff pastry open tart, caramelise some onions in a pan slowly, pile onto rolled out puff, crumble stilton over and cook.

or a salad dressing, mixed with creme fraiche

or a canape topping on bruschetta or crostini with celery, walnuts and a drizzle of honey

definately off to the kitchen now

that went down well, not

it was lovely, delia's stilton and celery but 2 out of 3 dc's virtually spat it out, or would have done ... luckily i made it a first course rather than a main meal.
