Got any ideas what I can do with this ham?

Sorry, yes, it's me and ham again. Blush

I have a large piece of ham. It's not moist enough to just eat on its own. It was overcooked really and is a bit dry.

I can't imagine what a ham casserole would be like. But it needs some kind of sauce on it and to heat in the oven in the sauce for a bit so that the meat doesn't seem so dry.

Any ideas?

what about adding it to something like caulilflower cheese.

Or do a soup like pea and ham.

Add it to some cheesy pasta!

winnybella · 08/01/2011 16:39

Yeah, pea soup.
Fried eggs and ham?
Could you use it in a sandwich if you put some lettuce, cheese and mayo?

add it to toamto or cheese sauce and serve with pasta

cut it into small blocks and freeze on a baking sheet - once frozen bag it. You can then use it in volumes as required to add onto pizza or omelet, pasta sauce (either white sauce or tomato), add to soup - leek day one, ham and leek day two, then add chicken and a puff pastry top to make a ham/ chicken/ leek pie.

Minestrone soup.

Ham, leek and potato gratin, with as cheesy/wine-y a sauce as you see fit!

Second the cheesy pasta idea. I had a plateful of dryish ham from Christmas that I added, chopped up, to a macaroni cheese with tomatoes and basil. Very nice.
