Don't worry about it too much - toxicologist on the news tonight saying that levels of ( what ever it was) was so low that it is not at all harmful to health - supermarkets are just taking stuff of the shelves cos that's what they do I suppose - most of the "goods" produced from the contaminated batch have already been eaten anyway !

QueenGigantaurofMnet · 08/01/2011 00:57

yabu.

if they listed the items that contain the miniscule amounts of toxin then people who believe the typical daily mail scaremongery will be going bonkers trying to take things back to shops.

there is no risk to your health and the chances are that IF you bought something that was contaminated you have already eaten it, i am assuming you aren't dead or ill and so therefore it must all be ok.

As dioxins are carcinogenic, then you won't die or become ill immediately even with a toxic level dose.

What is worrying is the speed at which contamination spreads through the international food chain. I don't doubt the experts when they say the concentrations in this event are too low to cause harm, but the potential for widespread harm is concerning.

It was to me more the fact that the company refuse to state what it went into.

I didn't have any particular concerns of me dropping dead last night or next week. I don't eat pre prepared foods very often

It was more they will not say and when we have large food company refusing to say what is in which food I think it becomes a dangerous company. It is it that they are not sure which foods?
