Light but delicious starter ideas needed

We have guests coming tomorrow and I am making a chicken, bacon and mushroom pie (puff pastry).

Dessert will be Jamie's Frangipane Tarts.

Any ideas for a light starter? Don't want anything too stodgy, or we won't have space for dessert.

:o JJJ
Cooking is not the problem, sourcing all these ingredients may be.

Slices of smoked chicken alternated with thin slices of avocado, with a strawberry vinaigrette. Looks really pretty and is very tasty. (Will see if I can find recipe for strawberry vinaigrette if you want!)

Santa, will the guests be happy with a chicken starter and a chicken main though?

Mme just wish the cooking wasn't my problem Grin

Although I did have a couple of guests on NYE and one copied down a recipe. So polite bless her, she probably just wanted to see how it should have turned out.

JJJ - good point. However, it is smoked, which gives it a different taste altogether. I suppose it could be substituted with a smoked ham? Actually, even a smoked mozzarella might be nice (there's a name for smoked mozzarella but I can't for the life of me remember it!)
