Been in vacuum plastic in fridge Just couldn't face being sick tbh!

You will not get sick from eating a smoked fish one day after it's use by date. Especially if it's vacuum packed and has been in the fridge.

out of date by a day? yes I would eat it. Out of date by 3 or 4 days, no.

No I am usually quite blase about this sort of thing but had a sore thraot 23rd and by boxing day was begging the emergency doc because it was tonsilitis and now thta antibiotics have kicked in I feel like eating but nervous to be ill again!otherwise I wouldn't think twice

You can taste really quickly if smokes salmon is bad. It smells vile too.
