My mum was feeding dd (10mo) and had a little taste of the food to test temp and 'felt' something hard, she checked and found something plastic about 8-10cm long and 4-5cm wide!!! poor dd would have certainly choked on it Sad and as worryingly, it looks like it came apart from another bit, or maybe something bigger!! I feel like i should do something but dont know what. I called the company to complain, and the lady apologised but didnt seem too bothered Shock what if theres a bigger bit in another jar somewhere!! Be careful when u feed your baby, please check the food!!!

Do you mean millimetres? That sounds huge!

I'd keep the piece of plastic and packaging. Contact the company again and say you're not happy and want to speak to someone who is willing to help you.
Yopu should at the very least get a proper appology and a refund for the food.

Keep the item , the , rest of the jar and return it also I would contact a consumer advice line as well as you say what happens if there is more somewhere?

If it is 'cm' as you say, there is no way you or your mother would have fed such a huge piece of plastic to your child.

I agree that the company should take it more seriously to avoid other jars having such contamination. I read somewhere that (some) food companies can check the veracity of your claim by analysing the contamination to see if it came from their production lines.

However, if it is a cottage based organic food company, I wonder whether they have the resources or corporate responsibility to care? Photograph it, against a ruler and send it to customer care to get a better response.

When my mum found it it was scrunched up, mixed with the food, she took it out and unravelled it, then we could see it was a large peice of plastic. It is a jar from cow and gate and to be honest i expected them to care a little bit more then they did! Photographing it against a ruler and contacting customer care is a good idea i will do that. Makes you wonder what the hell goes on in C&G's quality control!
