Not sure yet as not weighed it - was around 6kg before it got boned - then needs a good stuffing.

MickyLee · 24/12/2010 17:53

Before I tell you the weight, let me say dinner is for 2 adults and 2 children

9.530 lbs!!!

I made an order for the smallest turkey and the butcher got it slighty backwards and ordered the biggest. He was so pleased with himself when I went in to pick it up that I didn't have the heart to tell him he got it wrong Xmas Grin

MickyLee · 24/12/2010 17:54

Sorry not pounds but 9.530 kg

Pantofino · 24/12/2010 17:55

Jesus! Hope you have some good curry recipes! Xmas Grin

MickyLee · 24/12/2010 19:39

I am thinking of freezing it sliced. Then I can de-frost overnight as needed and re-heat for around 9 months worth of roast dinners Xmas Grin

Are bones heavy? I have 8.8lb boned and rolled. Hope it's enough for everyone.

arentfanny · 24/12/2010 20:02

Mine is 14lbs (6.36 kg) and I thought that was big! I hope your fits in the oven mickylee!

HumphreyCobbler · 24/12/2010 20:41

We have a chicken stuffed in a goose stuffed in a turkey. It weighs 14lbs boneless. We also have a ham weighing 10lbs.

We reared all of it except for the turkey, so am very proud of my christmas lunch.

Sariah · 24/12/2010 20:45

Mine is 20lb. It looks very big. We will be eating turkey for a while I think.

debka · 24/12/2010 21:31

Small problem here. Don't know how much it weighs and scales are bust. Any ideas how I can find out? Plus, how long do you cook a boned butterfly for? [woefully unprepared emoticon]

No wii fit here.... I'm buggered aren't I....

rudolpherina · 24/12/2010 22:47

I have my 27lb turkey cooked already! I had to get the legs off to fit in the oven. There will be 18 for dinner tomorrow, then a good few guests will join us to morrow night, so will make sandwiches. Then 10 eating on boxing day.

nigglewiggle · 24/12/2010 23:04

Well, I ordered a 5-6 Kilo one. The farmer rang to say they were coming up small this year and they sent me ...... a 3 Kilo one!

I complained and they refunded delivery etc, but I have cooked a ham and have lots of pigs in blankets, just in case. I have 4 adults and 2 children to feed. Xmas Shock

I plan to feed the children up on chocolate and get the adults drunk so no-one notices! Xmas Grin

Do I win the prize for the smallest?
