Sauce to accompany Nut Roast anyone?

I'm making the predictable and not-very-original nut roast for our vegetarian Christmas dinner. I'm after a tasty sauce to go with it. Any suggestions? Something spicy? Tomatoey? Fruity? Thanks.

We have this Sarah Brown red spicy sauce every year

(with her hazelnut and courgette loaf):

1/2 onion finely chopped fryed gently with 1 clove crushed garlic. Then add 1/4 tsp chilli powder and a diced red pepper and cook another 3-4 mins.Stir in 220g tinned tomatoes and 1/2 tbsp tomato puree and simmer 15-20 mins until have rich, thick sauce.Reheats well.

I'd just make a red wine or port gravy, with some fresh herbs.
