one of those fruit/veg boxes from the supermarket to transport them in.
primrose bakery recipes are v reliable but i find their icing a tad stiff so always add a splash of milk to soften it.
other than that nigella's cupcake recipe from 'domestic goddess' is worth a look.
will be happy to post if you haven't got them or can't find them onlineXmas Smile

the absolute best vanilla cupcakes I've made were these:

they were just perfect cupcakes IMO!

I didn't make the vanilla sugar or vanilla salt, and coloured them pink with food colouring (I was making boob buns).

for icing, I used a tub of betty crocker stuff Xmas Blush for the first time ever, and because it is mainly preservatives, it held up well to travelling! I transported them in bun tins though to keep them supported.

I've ut a photo on my profile so you can see the icing!

To transport, use some empty cereal boxes. Cut one side off around three of the edges. You then get a box with a lid.

If the cakes are taller than the box, just take the flap off completely.

I used an empty amazon box for this very reason today - a flatish box that a load of books came in. Worked perfectly!

For transporting, either put them back in the baking tins you used or you can buy cup cake boxes in most supermarkets these days.

I will have to try all your suggested recipes in my life long desire to find THE ONE.

Thank you for all your help!!!

If I am moving lots I go to the local supermarket and get empty yoghurt trays - think muller lite are good for muffin size and they can be stacked
