Had just picked out a chocolate dinosaur cake for DS who will be 4 on Jan 1st and found that M&S don't let you order cakes between Xmas and new year! Dear Lord!!! What do I do now? I could try and make one, any one got any good ideas for a cake that looks like this?

Could you order now, collect and then freeze until required?

topsi · 12/12/2010 15:30

I suppose it really depends what the icing is made of. However, in our local supermarket, all the ingredients labels have on them in very small print that they are not to be refrozen, so they must have all been frozen and then defrosted to be put on sale.

Waitrose have a dinosaur cake - you could ask them whether they would make one for you!
