If I make a stew in the slow cooker today

(Wednesday) so it'll be ready by this evening, can I keep it in the fridge to eat on Saturday?

It's a lamb stew and I want to make it today because my mum is coming tomorrow and she hates lamb - the smell of it makes her feel sick so I'd rather get it cooked. Use by date is Friday.

Any option to freeze it in the meantime ?

A cooked stew in a sealed box in the fridge should be ok - especially if you are going to reheat it thoroughly on the day. So you should be fine - I have certainly reheated things of that age before.

Wed-eve to Sat is about the limit for me. I'd freeze it and defrost during the day on Saturday, although it does affect the texture of the vegetables.
