iv been putting it off and putting it off and noe its come to the crunch. I am doing the x-mas day buffet this year (our family is abit wonky we do it all the wrong way round but as there are sooo many of us and young dc's it so much easier to do buffet x-mas day and dinner boxing day)
iv done x-mas dinner for the last three years and i cant seem to focus long enough to get past 'a ham' for the buffet.
Please please please inspire me!
Idealy it would be nice to do stuff which could be frozen so i can cook alot in advance for ease with a few things that could be done the night befor(so i can get in the x-masy 'mood')
There will be 3dc's(they will eat anything)
and 8 adults maybe more (1 or 2). Ilike lovely food and i like to cook if that helps i also dont mind buying a few pr packed bits aswell.
thankyou to anyone who will offer there advice Smile

Was going to suggest a ham but see you've already got that Xmas Grin.

A nice home-made soup to warm things up as a starter? (can make and freeze).

Hot sausages? (decent ones, not chipolatas)

Jacket potatoes

What about cold smoked fish?

Salads - rice/couscous etc.

Quiche?

Cheese and fruit.

What about salmon in puff pastry, salmon coulibiac here?

Then you could do a rice salad, a pasta salad and a mixed/green salad. Also a good cheese and pickles, with lots of french bread.

For desserts, you could have a tiramisu, trifle, fresh fruit salad.

Sorry, meant cheese board

huge pasta bake you can do in foil trays now and freeze or a lasagne
roasted new pots with garlic and rosemary to go with the ham
home made sausage rolls - when I say home made, I mean shop bought pastry and really good sausage meat - get them prepared and serve straight out of the oven with lots of mustards and pickles

I'm going to suggest this christmas pie made it this weekend was lovely!

Very 80's but my ex's mum always filled baby gem lettuce leaves with prawns in a seafood sauce and i LOVED them, easier to serve on a buffet!
