DS1's birthday tomorrow. He is v fussy and doesn't like jam and probably doesn't like chocolate ganache, buttercream icing or anything else you use to sandwich two sponges together.
so I need to make him a very un-fancy choc cake in only one layer. Can I just do a bigger sponge or won't it rise properly?
