Treacle tart and custard.

stickersarecurrency · 28/11/2010 12:50

Hobnobs. See recipe in recipe section. Bloody delish.

Scootergrrrl · 28/11/2010 12:52

Flapjacks. Will be good slow release energy later.

Or straight from the jar

hotcrossbunny · 28/11/2010 13:05

Pancakes?

Scootergrrrl · 28/11/2010 13:10

Microwave treacle pudding - two egg sponge mix, treacle in bottom of dish, microwave for four minutes. Devour.

pipplin · 28/11/2010 17:34

tbh I would just have it on toast but I am lazy!

taffetacat · 28/11/2010 20:57

homemade granola

its good for you and the baby and it keeps brilliantly in an airtight container

how you getting on?

OnlyWantsOne · 28/11/2010 22:10

We had it for after tea too. Also good with jam!

How's the labour going?

OnlyWantsOne · 29/11/2010 08:18

feels like period from hell but no contractions which im thankfull for as needed some sleep :) seriously fab recipe, so much better than the 3 min choc mug cake.

I sent my dad a photo of ours and he phoned me for the recipe (he also loves steam treacle pud) and then he made one!!

oh wow good luck with the labour :) What exactly do you need for the sponge? (Have been chastised by MNers for not knowing the difference between sponge and Victoria sandwich or some such)

Scootergrrrl · 29/11/2010 11:28

For a sponge to serve four (or one lady in labour!), cream 125g each of butter and caster sugar, mix in two beaten eggs then add 125g self raising flour.
You can make it bigger by increasing the weighed ingredients by 60g or so for each extra egg you add. I think we might have it again tonight!

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 29/11/2010 11:38

wow thanks Scooter :o

I'm presuming you'd do it in a pudding basin type thing, with lots of syrup going in first...yum. Tomorrow night sorted then.

Scootergrrrl · 29/11/2010 11:41

Indeed. Cover it with clingfilm to stop it rising like buggery but don't forget to poke a few holes in or it'll explode!
You can make a chocolate version by substituting 25g of cocoa powder for some of the flour if you like.
I wont be blamed if you put on seven stone by eating treacle pudding every night though Wink

OnlyWantsOne · 29/11/2010 12:21

2 eggs mix is

2 egg then 4 flour, 4 sugar, 4 fat (butter) - I work in ounces!!!

Was bloody good! (and I only had about 1/4 of it scootrrrrr lol

Scootergrrrl · 29/11/2010 12:59

Sure you did Wink

And anyway, what are you still doing here!

tb · 29/11/2010 18:24

Toffee shortbread aka Millionaire's shortbread. Mine's just waiting the toffee bit at the moment.

clippityclop · 30/11/2010 00:36
