Living on their healthy balance meals at the mo, well when DH isn't home for dinner which seems to most of the time at the mo. They're absolutely gorgeous.

Also get loads of fruit from there cos it's cr*p from the local supermarkets. Got two chickens for three quid there this morning, so often also cheaper than the local supers as well.

They used to sell this absolutely divine banana/toffee dessert which I haven't seen for ages, and I loved their cream cheese and apple sandwiches. Their chocolate is also lovely.

The Fruity Pannacotta is literally the best pudding I have ever had!!!!
If anyone has not tried it and doesn't mind a lardy pudding - Try one! It is so delicious Oooo I really want one before I start my diet (Thanks for reminding me )

I'm with frannyf on the avocado and spinach sarnies but they've stopped stocking them in my nearest M&S . Also agree wih cod re pitta breads - haven't found anywhere elses that are as nice - though probably got far more calories than anyone elses too.

robinia · 23/09/2005 16:30

That should have been a of course.

foxinsocks · 23/09/2005 16:34

the absolute best most divine dessert is the pavlova-style dessert that you have to defrost. It's like a swiss roll but with meringue and cream....one type is strawberries, cream, champagne and meringue and the other is sort of pecan nut, toffee, cream and meringue (all in the frozen section). They are absolutely delicious mmmmmm

and I love their chicken balti - better than any Indian takeaway I've had

but yes, sandwiches need a big overhaul

Their Count on Us chocolate mousses are divine - better than full fat ones from anywhere else.

I like that toffee pecan meringuey thing too. They used to do a toffee pecan pudding that you warmed in the oven - that was to die for.

NannyL · 23/09/2005 18:36

My local M&S does not sell organic chicken

Pah. have you noticed that their adverts show all the stuff that you are not allowed to eat when pregnant (i'm 35 weeks). Smoked salmon, wine, rare steak, more wine, parma ham etc etc.

Not that I shop there anyway......

Cam · 23/09/2005 19:30

I love the quality of their meat
