what is the english equivalent of american 'all purpose flour'

Self raising or plain?

Its for a cookie recipe

Plain I think.

Plain, don't think they really do self raising over there.

In the US, they do Self Rising flour I believe. But All-purpose is plain flour

I always presumed it was SR.
