I`d really like to make some for christmas presents along with the wine dh has made, some gingerbread all decorated up in nice jars , some fresh eggs from our lovley hens-and hopefully some chutney !

If you have a recipe that a 6 year old could follow thats about my limit - hey at least im having a go. Im about 30 jars i can fill.
TIA x

I made a really easy one last week but I don't know how long it will keep for as it is only boiled for a few minutes.

1lb onions
1lb tomatoes
4 red peppers
1/2 head celery
1/2lb salt

1/2lb sultanas or raisins
1lb sugar
400 ml vinegar
4tsp mustard seed

Chop onions tomatoes peppers and celery, add the salt then allow to drain through a tea-towel overnight.

Next day, dissolve the sugar in the vinegar over a low heat, then add veg pulp, sultanas and mustard seed. Bring up to a boil, simmer for about 5 minutes only, then bottle whilst still piping hot.
