Can I substitute eggs whites for a whole egg in a cake??

I have two whole eggs left and some of the Two Chicks egg whites stuff left in the fridge.

I have a recipe for a cake which requires three eggs so do you think I can put in two whole eggs and the equivalent volume of an egg in just egg whites??

Do you think the cake will suffer from only having two yolks and not three??

what are the other ingredient measurements? i.e butter flour and sugar.

Anything up to 6oz should be fine

Theantsgomarching · 25/11/2010 16:20

I wouldn't thinbk so, the egg yolk is what does the binding of all the ingredients

Theantsgomarching · 25/11/2010 16:20

sorry - you have 2 yolks so I'd chance it [not much use emoticon]

6 oz of each, flour, sugar, butter.
