some questions for those of you who make food gifts for cristmas

i intend to do this this year i have my slow and blckberry gin in the outhouse ready to be strained and bottled and i also intent to make truffles and some homemade lemon curd and packege them in trio's in choccy boxes recycled jam jars with cristmas fabric toppers and homemade labels in brown paper bags (if all goes to plan Grin) my question is timing obviously the gin will keep once bottled but once iv made the truffles and lemon curd how quickly have i got to get in to the relatives? as we wont be seeing dh's on cristmas day

Hi. I'm not an expert on this by any means but in terms of the truffles, if you're making them with fresh cream, they only keep for about 3 days. Lemon curd keeps for about 2 weeks in the fridge (because of the eggs). Hope this is helpful! It all sounds lovely [greedy emoticon]
