What's the story with Jamie's in Oxford?

All right, I live in the sticks, but I was in Oxford last night.

It was freezing cold and a bit damp, but people were queuing round the block for a table. What did I miss?

not sure but tbh there is always a queue at the cambridge one because you can't book a table.

There is always a queue in the Brighton and Cardiff ones too. Been to the Cardiff one recently and was very good.

Ah, I didn't realise it was a chain - never seen one before

Oxford is notorious for having crap restaurants but has quite a lot of reasonably well paid people (just look at the house prices and the women's clothes shops). Hence the queues.

Haven't been but I know you can't make reservations at any of the Jamie restaurants.

Same in Guildford! Madness. Great food though!
