Try it - you will soon know if it's OK!

Mum2girls · 20/09/2005 18:52

but will it make us ill?

if its smoked, then its already preservedish?
if its been properly stored in freezer, then anythhing up to a year is fine. do cook it though

twirlaround · 20/09/2005 18:55

look for worms, which can be present even in fresh fish - these will be obvious if they are there

Then if it smells & tastes fresh (ie not strong tasing or bad tasting) it will be fine!

compo · 20/09/2005 18:56

Mum2girls · 20/09/2005 18:56

compo, my sis is like that. she thinks all fish will make her sick. starts talking about being sick just by looking at the stuff.
its just after my experience with mil and her food handling methods ive realised that we are probly a bit too quick at declaring food off.
