Spare ribs in the slow cooker...

Bought some today, do I need to brown them off? Was thinking of chucking them in the slow cooker on low for hours with a jar of bbq cook-in sauce.
Unless any of you great people can give me a better idea. :-)

there are some recipes around on mumsnet. i've never done them in slow cooker. i dont bother browning any other meat.

I usally do what you have said, sometimes add a few red onions, you do get alot of fat come off them though.
