Thai fish cakes -cod, shallots, runner beans, chilli , fish sauce, sugar; blitz all ingredients in magimix , then shallow fry.

Tom YUn goong -v hot and sour soup , quite easy to find jars of the paste which you add a stock too, mushrooms, chicken and prawns, coriander to serve.

will think some more

thai corn fritters - sweetcorn (cut straight off the cob - you need a very sharp knife but other than that, its easy - ginger, lemongrass, spring onion, soy, chilli, garlic, coriander, egg, all mixed togethers and fried in veg oil.

Very, very quick and delicious.

I would just go for poppadoms (the kind you fry are tastiest) with some nice relishes (home made chutney good) and some cucumber and yoghurt dip.

OK that's strictly indian but no one will complain and they will still be nice and hungry for the main ACT!

thai fish cakes
another recipe for thai fish cakes

most of the recipes online for the soup are from scratch and dont take into account using a commercialy pre made paste. I think Ive got my past jars from either a large sainsburys in there special food section or a chinese supermarket. On the jar it says what to add and qauntities.

If you can find it a fresh tub of fish stock is good for the soup. Joubiere may do one in waitrose. Try Ocado online to see.

Nothing, just a basket of prawn crackers. They are my absolute favourite thing before a Thai curry. Yum. Maybe some dip with them.
