Have a pregnant friend coming over for a girly night. The rest of us will be drinking wine so thought it might be a nicer alternative to orange juice.

No.
Bitter lemon nice, or tonic water or lime & soda.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 28/10/2010 22:25

no tis horrid

much nicer to get some elderflahr cordial and fizzy water

silver28 · 28/10/2010 22:25

Nothing like wine, it's much sweeter, but it's a nice alternative. I think elderflower cordial with sparkling water is nicest of the grown up soft drinks!

silver28 · 28/10/2010 22:25

Oh boysarelikedogs, great minds.....

RipMacWinkle · 28/10/2010 22:26

No it really, really doesn't.

You can buy non-alcoholic wine or non-alcoholic becks?

Moondog's suggestions are good too. I love lemonade or soda and cranberry too (as an alternative to vodka &)

nappyaddict · 28/10/2010 22:27

OK so can anyone recommend a nice non-aloholic wine that still tastes like wine?

no non-alcoholic wine is nice to drink I'm afraid

harpsichordcarrier · 28/10/2010 22:29

Christ no.
the Bottle Green cordials are nice

BoysAreLikeDogs · 28/10/2010 22:29

hah, silver

RipMacWinkle · 28/10/2010 22:32

None actually taste like wine really.

Sainsburys used to do a fizzy Rose that was ok (tho admittedly I don't have very high standards Wink)

nappyaddict · 28/10/2010 22:34

What about the Sutter Home Fre ones?

Actually, have just noticed that this is in the Food section.

Jeez, I shouldn't even be allowed in this section.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 28/10/2010 23:18

elderflower presse is fantastic
or failing that a good elderflower cordial mixed and chilled
it's a bit sauvignon blanc
all the flavours but still the crispness

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/10/2010 23:23

Schloer is lovely, reminds me of being 8 Grin

Belvoir (sp?) do some nice fizzy things, the elderflower one especially is v.nice.

Don't buy 'real' non-alcoholic wine, it is all grimmer than grim.

SlaughteredSheep · 28/10/2010 23:30

I love shloer but I don't think it tastes like wine. I'm pregnant and if I went to someone's house for a girly night and they'd got shloer in for me instead of wine I'd be happy (whilst pg of course).

However, I shouldn't be allowed in this food section either!
