Has anyone got a tried and tested treacle tart recipe? I will buy the pastry but need to know how to do the filling. I have googled it but there is such a variety of quantity for the ingredients.

Or even cheaterier - weetabix and golden syrup.

Crush the weetabix, pout the syrup over and bake.

or my treacle sponge - crumble bread into bottom of plastic pudding basin. cover with syrup .

crem buutter & sugar (2 spoons each) add egg and enough flour so that i looks like sponge mix rather than eggy gloop - pour over syrupy bread.

microwave for 2 mins.

et voila.

fast and dirty treacle sponge.

OK, is that a challenge?

Pop your popcorn, then tip out of pan, and put large knob butter into pan and spoon Golden Syrup, let simmer a moment then pour over popcorn.

Ha ha. No actually I wasn't. Sounds like great kids party food to me (and the adults in the corner sneaking all the goodies)

Maryz yours sounds good but I am not really very good at chucking it and coming out with something good. I am a control freak who needs measurements.
