Cooled cooked prawns left out of the fridge for 6 hours - would you eat or chuck them?

I bought some prawns from the deli section of M+S yesterday and was planning to put them into a stir-fry tonight, but I left them out of the fridge for several hours and they had a slightly odd smell when I opened them. WWYD? Thanks.

chuck!! for sure.

RabbitAndCo · 11/10/2010 18:51

If they don't smell nice / right, I wouldn't eat them.

Chuck

mountainmonkey · 11/10/2010 18:58

Definitely chuck- especially if they smell funny. Prawns can give you terrible food poisoning.

They smell much better now that the polythene has been off for a few minutes. I sometimes find that meat smells dodgy when it's just been unwrapped too. Still chuck? DH not sounding delighted at prospect of stir-fried veg for supper.

If they DO smell nice / right, I would eat them

(I realise that is just a rephrasing of my earlier post)
