I fancy something diffrent to the usual that we order.

Between 5 of us we normally get

chicken curry
beef in Blackbean sauce
chicken in breadcrumbs (this is very hit and miss)
shredded chicken chow mein
egg fried rice
Pork balls
chips

I'm looking for inspiration Grin

We usually get King Pao chicken and sweet % sour chicken balls (for the children) as standard, then add on the optional dishes, such as Hunan beef.

upahill · 09/10/2010 15:35

Tofu in black bean sauce is my Chinese choice but I prefer an Indian.

Mumcentreplus · 09/10/2010 15:54

serenity · 09/10/2010 15:56

Salt and Chilli bean curd
Dry ribs or spring rolls
(if feeling rich) 1/4 shredded duck

Shredded Chilli beef
Lemon Chicken
Chicken with cashew nuts

Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls (for DCs)

Egg fried Rice
Pork Chow Mein

Usually get the Prawn Crackers free Smile

Used to be

King prawn with green pepper in black bean sauce
Chicken with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts in oyster sauce
Chicken with chinese mushrooms
Barbecued spare ribs
Chicken with broccoli and ginger
Char siu
Soo chow crispy stuffed duck
Hsiu mai (pork and prawn dumplings)

'Sob' the nearest decent chinese as opposed to vietnamese is probably Paris - 400km away. Serves me right for emigrating.

loopyloops · 09/10/2010 20:09

:( I really want Chinese. Normally have it at least once on the weekend but DH is away and they don't deliver, DD asleep. It's only around the corner. Do you reckon if I phoned and begged them they'd bring it round?

loopyloops · 09/10/2010 20:10

What did you go for btw?

nikki1978 · 09/10/2010 20:12

I am the only person in my household to like chinese which is annoying as if I have everything I want it is too much. I always have:-

Special Fried Rice
Special Chow Mein
BBQ Ribs or Sweet and sour chicken balls

Love it. Loopy loops if you have spare cash you can pay a cab to pick it up and drop it to you. DH has done this before! Grin

loopyloops · 09/10/2010 20:41

Hmm not sure about the cab, chinese is literally 2 minutes away, taxi company is about 10 minutes away...

moaningminniewhingesagain · 09/10/2010 20:59

We get prawn toast,
vegetarian mini spring rolls,
Sechuan King Prawns
Chicken Mixed Veg
Fried Rice. Occasionally Peking duck or sweet and sour.I love our current chinese - really nice spring rolls and prawn toast and still hot/crispy when it gets hereSmile

I used to have a different favourite takeaway that we used nearly every week at the time. One weekday afternoon a woman knocked on my door and asked me to lend her money. She said 'I know you, you always get XYZ from my takeaway, I need to borrow some money off a friend, can you lend me some?' She strode straight into my house to ask. I was very Confused I though WTF? I'm a customer, not a friend??

It broke my heart as after I let her down gently we couldn't really use that Chinese anymore. They used to do a lovely mixed starter thing
