What's happening to my Stellar stainless steel pans in my dishwasher?

The rivets are going all white and pitted on the outside. I'm sure these pans (Stellar 7000) are supposed to be dishwasher safe. Anyone know what's going on here and if they're getting ruined?

It sounds like limescale, do you have enough salt in the dishwasher?

We do now, but our water is really soft so I don't think it's limescale. It seems more like some kind of corrosion, but as I say the pans are supposed to be dishwasher safe so I'm puzzled.

Phone the company and see what they say.

Not sure - we have Stellar pans that are over 20 years old and always been in the washer with no probs. The design is now not made but I'm sure the basic make is the same. Never noticed anything like that.

Thanks. I will contact them - it's very strange.
