Hi can anyone help. I have just bought a nordic ware castle cake tin and I'm not sure what recipe to use or in what quantities. It looks like a huge tin so i want to make sure i make enough!! I was thinking either plain or chocolate sponge.
Anyone had any experience with nordic ware cake tins, please share!
Thankyou

I have a tin - its got lots of little individual flowers etc. Have only used it once, and was recommended a fairly dense cake so it comes out easily.

Have a look at their website - they seem to have some recipes on there eg this but they are US measurements.

Nigella uses a nordicware tin for this one in her christmas book.

Would something like a madeira cake recipe work?

For the quantities, you could always fill the mould with water and then either weigh or measure the water. If you do the same with an 8/9 inch square or round tin, then that will show you how much cake mix it will contain.
