Urgent help with vegetarian gelatin

My recipe says use hot

My packet of geletine says dissolve in cold

How do I heat it up? Or can I just use hot water?

Or even VEGETARIAN I am going to bed now. I am obviously over tired .

The bits the edges are completely set and a lovely texture as is the top it's just the middle

DD plans to use teaspoons full in hot chocolate

I am sure that my DD would love to do the same . I found some American Marshmallow fluff in Txmaxx the other week but it was strawberry flavor and I didn't think that would be good in chocolate.
