yes but it doesn't have to be worthy of the table of Henry VIII

just buy a couple of tubs of nice ice cream and some strawberries or something

or greek yoghurt with honey and chopped nuts

No! Maybe one 'proper' dessert during the weekend, but more likely just offer an inviting fruit bowl/box of chocs and coffee.

If you have dessert on the Saturday there are likely to be a few leftovers for those that might want to indulge on the Sunday.

I assume as these people are staying that they are close friends or family so you neededn't be too formal?

Yes.

  1. Cheesecake, ready made.
  2. Haagen Dazs, ditto.

Cheese n biscuits?

thumbwitch · 13/09/2010 16:59

well probably but I wouldn't go overboard - just one nice pudding and then ice cream or something for the other. Or what mrs Tayto said (fine taste you have there woman! Grin)

Yes, very good friends who wouldn't mind if something was shopbought or not. Just me being a perfectionist. Blush

Doing tiramisu (her favourite) on the friday night so need something for the saturday night, after curry.

Ice cream might be a good bet, cool things down etc. Although my curries aren't that hot!

Agree with greensleeves, different puds but try to keep it simple. If you want to make it look like you made an effort, something like trifle is good as you just buy the bits and dump them in a bowl assemble.

Also not everyone appreciates puddings though so for those friends I'd tend to just do a cheese course and offer fruit.
