no pie lid.

i just boil and mash the potatoes- then grate strong cheddar into it. Add the lightly fried onions - mix together. brown under grill. have also had it severed in a pastry case before, but no pastry lid (IYSWIM)- often have it with baked beans or sausage.

kids love it.

have to say - i'm not a good or imaginative cook. my kids reckon i should just get food out of freezer and stick it straight into bin. Say it saves that burnt smell all round the house.

they will eat this tho!

sorry served (severed- what was i thinking!!) _

u sound like my aunty she once did us toad in the hole with frogs cos she's ran out of sausage so she cut burgers up into 1/4 and shoved em in! tasted fab! burnt but fab!

might give it a try then for next weekend.
