I need some suggestions of foods to eat after a long period of vomiting. What sort of things are likely to stay down whilst still being nutritious ?

Thanks

bananas

plain toast

plain rice

Maybe porridge (not sure about that).

anything rich in carbs e.g. pasta, potato, bread, rice. Soup is supposed to be good too.

I generally eat salt and vinegar crisps. That always seems to work for me.

Lol at JollymummyGrin

I always have boiled white rice with chicken and soy.

moragbellingham · 30/08/2010 09:20

Me too, white rice with soy, chicken and peas.

Jollymummy Grin Salt & vinegar crisps (hula hoops) were my best morning sickness foods Smile

I need food that is easily transportable (its for someone in hospital). Would rice pudding work or is dairy best avoided ?

I knew someone who swore by drinking coke. Would anything with ginger in it work - like ginger biscuits or ginger beer?

from nhs website (for feeding after vomiting):

Try to eat a light diet of foods that are easy to digest, such as soup, rice, pasta and bread. Babies should be given their normal feed throughout.

Same as Yawningmonster

FFIW ive been suffering from terrible morning (well, all day) sickness and Coca Cola really helps. I have only been having limited amouts though because of the caffene.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 30/08/2010 21:25

Grated apple. Something about the pectin apparently. I was on a diet of grated apple and plain boiled rice every time I had a stomach upset in the vicinity of my grandmother!

Thanks again - just really hope something works Sad
