Had a freezer sort-out today, and discovered the last of last year's blackberries lurking at the back.
As it is now nearly autumn and I plan to pick fresh ones soon, I've taken them out of the freezer and put them to defrost in the fridge - ideally I'll put them to good use tomorrow. So... can anyone tell me:
a) will they still be good to use after 11 months in the freezer?
b) what can I do with them? Don't fancy crumble yet, and not in the mood for Eton Mess / summer fruit puddings etc.
c) they weigh roughly 750g - is it worth making jam or jelly with this amount?
d) if yes to c), I also have some stewed nectarines in the freezer which need using up (happily, they have only been in there for 6 weeks as opposed to 11 months
) - is bramble and nectarine jelly/jam too vile to contemplate?
e) has anyone ever made blackberry ice cream?
f) should I just chuck them...?
TIA
