I know its alot to ask, thats why I'm running out of ideas.

I made morroccan lamb served with lots of veg and no rice. Yummy but would prefer with rice.

Spanish omlette - very nice but had potatoes it in.

I will eat carbs but normally my whole meal is carbs so really need to stop that.

Also I do not eat chicken or fish. Grin Very fussy.

Thai steak salad - fry your steak and cut into strips to serve on the salad. Salad is lettuce, cucumber, peppers (if you like), spring onions. I add rice noodles (one portion for two people so carbs are very low). Dressing is soy sauce, lime, chilli, coriander and mint.

Hard to do high protein without chicken or fish. You could replace with cheese but that's high calorie. I'd try some lentil dishes too.

no! ,lol but its a nice accomnyment to a curry

Tortington · 23/08/2010 10:56

if ytou are a strict LCer, lay off the lentils and noodles (sorry!)

Oh thai steak salad sounds nice, will give it a try.

oh no i love noodles... lol

custardo - I have looked at your blog, are you doing no carbs atall? And how long do you keep this up for?

I'm just doing low carbs, not no carbs as only need to loose about another 4 lbs. If i was doing no carbs i could easily loose about a stone.

Low carbs rather than none is great as it gives you loads more options. You can essentially include carbs at every meal in small amount and of the good sort.

Eg: Tinned tuna with homemade sugar free tomatoey sauce and half a can of butter beans, with some onion and green beans - all mixed together with cheese on top it's a lovely meal. Reminiscant of pasta bake.

Minced beef cooked with onions, a few tbs of green lentils, and spices and served with spring greens/broccoli.

Eggs florentine: layer cooked spinach, chopped cooked bacon and cheese in ramekins and top with an egg. Bake till the egg it just set.

Spinach dip: Fry onions and loads of chopped garlic, mix in spinach leaves (loads) and then stir plenty of cream cheese to make a thick, hot dip - normally served with bread but also delish on top of sliced green beans (as a sort of "pasta")

'Lasagne' - but replace some or all of the pasta with slices of parboiled swede/turnip.

Soup - use imagination but you can put anything in! Thai chicken is lovely - fry thickish slices of onion, whatever veg you like, and chicken with thai curry paste then pour in coconut milk and stock. Add fish sauce and lime and it's done Smile
