freeze them

make some white sauce and freeze it

OnlyWantsOne · 20/08/2010 10:24

I have about 5 pints in the freezer for the same reason...

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 20/08/2010 10:24

rice pudding

Ballpoint · 20/08/2010 10:30

Rice pudding
White sauce
Sweeten it and make milky lollies
Milkshakes
Drink lots of cocoa and eat bowls and bowls of cereal.
Make your own yoghurt/cheese? (bit of a sciencey experiment for the DC's)
Let the kids have a couple of pints to add food colouring to and different flavourings to taste.

I always have milk in the freezer, very useful if you run out of fresh unexpectedly.

I've thought of more:

Bake a cake and make custard to go with it

Thanks. I was thinking of freezing it but my freezer is full and i have the milkman so dont generally ever run out.

Can you make Cheese and Yoghurt from Skimmed Milk?

I will give the kids a MIlkshake with thier Lunch and make some kind of Milky Pudding then a Cocoa before bed. :)

I don't know anything about making your own yoghurt or cheese, it was just an idea that sprung to me to combine using up your excess milk and occupying the kids for a while.

Google it. I would imagine using skimmed milk would give you low fat cheese and yoghurt?

make pancakes! lots of them Grin

mountainmonkey · 20/08/2010 11:42

paneer

tb · 21/08/2010 14:31

Confiture de lait - 500g sugar + 1 litre milk, simmered and watched over until it's caramel-coloured and coats the back of a spoon.

Smoothies

hillee · 22/08/2010 10:52

mountainmonkey - absolutely! I make paneer whenever I have excess milk in the house. I then flavour it with some lemon zest and cracked black pepper (not traditional I know) and have it in salad, or on bagels etc.

whatagradeA · 22/08/2010 19:42

Oh my god I love MN! I had paneer for the first time a couple of months ago and loved it! Had no idea I could make it so easily. I will be using it with my lovely MN Malaysian curry recipe

Bumperlicious · 22/08/2010 20:43

Cheese sauce which you can then whack in the freezer.

moragbellingham · 23/08/2010 13:55
