My dp picked them up last night, am not sure what to do with them. Or how long they'll last.

Also, is my 3yo likely to eat them as they are do you think?

Spoon over a pavolva or make little shortcakes and sandwich together with whipped cream and passion fruit, the American way.

Yum.

Dd is 18 months and she ate them, but is famously unfussy.

mine eat them in the bath with the tops chopped off like eggs with teaspoons

you need them to be brown and very wrinkled, not smooth skinned. normally if you buy at supermarket, takes about 5 days in the fruit bowl to get them like this.

other suggestions:

  • stirred through natural yoghurt
  • drizzled with a few tablespoons of orange juice over cut up pineapple and left to marinate in fridge for a few hours
  • fabulosa in a victoria sandwich cake with cream

DD eats them with a spoon, they can be quite sharp though.

I love them in a fresh fruit salad, my friend's mum adds appletiser or similar to it so it goes fizzy! yum.

Forgot all about this yesterday with dd's exctiement over dp's birthday! Thanks ladies, I'll leave them to go wrinkly & then use them in a fruit salad for myself & dd I think. Although, I'm tempted to try the shortcakes idea as well!!
