Oh dear, my banana and peanut butter muffins are horrible

Well I'm not a big fan of peanut butter on its own it's true, but Rachel Allen was saying that it made the muffins taste sweet and crunchy.

There were oats in them and I thought they'd be all healthy and bananary and well..nice.

They were foul. God knows how anyone would like them. They tasted like papier mache and I follwed the recipe to the letter.

Dc were most unimpressed. I've made some flapjacks now instead and muffins are in the bin.

Glad it isn't just me - I made them and ended up throwing them away. No-one wanted them

I made them too, if you leave out the oats they are much better, I think they absorb all the flavour or something.

Yes, I think the oats made the mixture much too dry. Maybe will try again with pre-soaked oats or leave them out. Dd wasn't too impressed, so I froze them and took them too work for lunch! Agree sounded as if would be much nicer than they turned out.
