Right that's it for Twiglett. I'm not having fun any more, there is little of interest and I'm getting wound up by things I'm not sure I really care up so it's time for me to bid a fond adieu

twig, you can;t go.

and who are all these cocks flying about.....???

PoppyCoc · 25/10/2008 18:29

I didnt mean to be abrupt, its just all I keep reading is that 'MN is no good anymore' and its kinda insulting to me as a newbie. I have posted another thread about how I felt no one wanted any one new to join MN.

I didnt mean to offend Twiglett, I dont even know who she is and I have never even been on a thread with her I dont think so it wasnt intentional.

I dont know I had the same dog as HughJarss as I dont know who she is either.

Sorry Twiglett if I did offend you

expatinscotland · 25/10/2008 18:30

HughJars is my fav incarnation of . . .

DarrellRivers · 25/10/2008 18:31

It's all giving me a headache these days, I'm going to have a break and expat, good luck with the new baby, I'm sure I'll be back in a while for a chat

mrsruffallo · 25/10/2008 18:32

HughJars and that hughjarssssss are two separate people, the one being a well-known regular and the other a troll.

JollyPirate · 25/10/2008 18:36

I change names on a regular basis so my MN name does NOT become a regular thing. There is life outside MN which takes up time and MN is just an amusing sideline. Honestly could not get wound up enough (or involved enough) to "flounce".

exasperatedmummy · 25/10/2008 18:36

Im very confused, confuddled and quite frankly, discombobulated. Mayyyyyyyyyybeeeeeeeee MNHQ should put a stop to namechanging, that would be technically possible wouldn't it?

Ah, but i can hear the argument now - people wont post over embarrasing problems. People, like me, who have been a bit of a wanker in their old name and want to have a fresh start wont be able to do so, people wont be able to have halloween/christmas/easter/passover/ramadan/divali (im trying to be inclusive here, but my ignorance of religions is letting me down) names.

The thing is, there is nothing like a good argument, apart from when you are not sure if people are arguing or not...........hence my confusion.

I don't want to get in the middle of an oldies v newbies thing either, but I am fairly new and I also feel that I am fairly regularly reading how new people are changing MN and I feel a bit put off by it. I try to be polite to everyone. I have no idea who's new and who isn't tbh. Obviously you can tell some posters have built up relationships and are known. I can understand people feeling a sense of ownership over something they've put time into, and I can understand people seeing newbies come and go, and expecting them to put in some kind of investment, but it is a bit exclusive, no? I suppose we don't have to read what we don't want!

mrsruffallo · 25/10/2008 18:39

It's evolution as far as I can see, and change can be healthy
It's not a big deal really imo

mazzystartled · 25/10/2008 18:40

maybe, when someone changes their name their could be a little * or ! or change of colour or something that automatically pings up?

we wouldn't know what they had namechanged from, thus protecting mn identities

blueskyandsunshine · 25/10/2008 18:40

lol at somebody not being allowed to be abrupt with Twig

I mean.. just.. lol

ShinyPinkPumpkin · 25/10/2008 18:43

Oh for fucks sake this is an internet forum methinks there are some people who are taking this way too seriously....

PoppyCoc · 25/10/2008 18:44

Well I guess the lesson learned on this thread is that unless you have been here for X amount of years you are not allowed an opinion.

LL - I am sorry I have similarites with a notorious troll.

AbbeyA · 25/10/2008 18:44

Thank you mrsruffallo, I am overcome!
I think a lot of people see my name and groan!! Which is why I will leave them in peace!

blueskyandsunshine · 25/10/2008 18:48

shouldn't call you/her Twig, we never agreed about anything

maybe you are mellowing ..winning the argument seems less important.. I remember you being "infuriated" once but one can become tired of being outraged and even opinionated I guess.. shame though

have fun in rl

PoppyCock · 25/10/2008 18:50

well i've never trolled in my life, i always say who i am. [true]

and coc, i'm not spreading vile rumours, you really should get a grip. i'm saying On One Thread, To Your Face, that i don't believe you're a newbie. tbh if you were you wouldn't be calling me out as being 'famous' lol as i have hardly been around in the last couple of months since having dd2. one, cos i'm busy, and two, cos like twig i'm a bit bored with the twittering.

for the record, though, lapin, it's not the hujarsss thing that makes me think coc's not a newbie, as i said before that particular controversy passed me by completely. it's because she doesn't post like a newbie, plain and simple. and it's just my opinion, one person on one thread. hardly a smear campaign, lol.

As an oldie I expect more respect, I assumed everyone bowed their heads when they read my threads, is that not the case?

PoppyCoc · 25/10/2008 18:54

I wasnt calling you famous aitch, dont flatter yourself lol

I was refering to cod as I was talking about misspelling.

expatinscotland · 25/10/2008 18:57

who pissed in your cornflakes this morning, poppycoc?

damn.

twinsetofcocks · 25/10/2008 18:58

There is nothing wrong with pissing in cornflakes as long as you don't make your child sit in them afterwards.
