I'm currently cycling a 55 gallon tank.
Water from tap is soft and acidic.
I've kept fish for years in the past - discus, rams, tetras, before that gourami... etc.

I'm considering 6 SAP for new tank. But am worried about teeth - I'm not up for diy fish dentistry. Alternative is possibly a pair of neon blue acara. Or sone sort of dwarf cichlid pair with tetra.

So, anyone want to advise on fish for a 100cm long, 200 litre tank with soft acidic water? I dont want to cram it full, I don't want to faff with SG, or water hardening, or CO2. Want easy tough plants and happy to do water changes.

I doubt Mumsnet is known for its 'pet' fish experts. Why are you asking here? Surely at this level you should belong to a specialist fish forum to seek advice. I hate the whole thing of fish in tanks and birds in cages, just for human entertainment.

Seriously? A forum that has a subsection for fish shouldn't be used to discuss... fish?

I feel SOME fish don't belong in tanks - eg freshwater angels or goldfish. And some shouldn't be bred at all (fw parrotfish etc).
