I really want to get into aquascaping - any advice?

Never even had fish before. I know nothing. I live alone, and have a chronic illness, so don't want to go into something that's hours of physical work a week. But I'm prepared to learn, and have felt really passionately about this for a while. I've been watching some YouTube videos on it, and reading up a bit, but would appreciate any guidance from anyone on how to get started.

Thanks!

I'm terrible at keeping aquatic plants alive so can't offer any practical advice, but I would recommend looking up some books by the legendary Takashi Amano. He was the king of aquascaping, sadly he passed away in 2015.

I would also recommend reading Practical Fishkeeping magazine, there's always something about aquascaping in there as well as general fish tank care.

Hi, I’ve started keeping fish this coincidentally happened just before I developed long covid. It’s been a godsend and really helps to have something to focus on. I’m just starting with the whole scaling so am in no way experienced. I’m constantly changing my tanks lol.
plants go with low tech moss balls, floating these can literally be just chucked in there that easy! Java fern and Anubis again fairly easy they attach to rocks and wood. Find a good local fish shop see what they have and what you like. YouTube I found helpful kg tropicals, aquarium co op and prime time aquatics are my go tos. Some fish dig and rescape for you and some eat your plants so that will need researching too. Have fun 😊
