Why won't he come out?

First time fish owners we have got a small tank with 2 variata platys and 2 leopard danio (think that's correct)

Bought them yesterday and one of the platys has swum into this coconut house and has been there for about 12 hours. Don't think it's eaten anything. It's moving around inside but mostly staying still. I've never had a pet or fish in my life. Do I move the house or leave him in there? Thank you 🙈

Just leave him there, it's a environment change, hiding from predators, some will be more bold than others, but will come out when he feels safe.

Thank you, what about eating, is there a certain amount of time I should wait until he's not had any food?

They're mainly nocturnal, so don't worry if they hide during the day

How big’s the tank? How long have you had it set up? Have you done a fishless cycle? What are your water parameters (ammonia/nitrite/nitrate)?
