Upgrading 25L to 125L

Hi everyone

I've recently got back into fishkeeping. I will be setting up a new Fluval Roma 125 this week with substrate and plants and will match water temp etc. I have 2 guppies and 2 platys just now. I do have one live plant in there which I will also move over. How long do you think I should leave it before I move the fish to new tank. The new tank will have its own filter but presume it makes sense to add the in the small filter from the 25l initially to help cycle? Thanks for any suggestions. I wasn't intending to add any more fish to the 125l until happy with the new cycling and water testing.

I would move everything straight over to the 125, including the 25L filter, and let them run side by side for a few weeks to clone the bacteria. Congrats on the upgrade!

OH depending on size/type of filter, the other option rather than two filters running together, would be to take the filter media from the smaller 25L filter and smoosh it into the 125 filter (being careful not to block flow too much) and then the bacteria will clone that way.

Thank you @bunnygeek for both ideas. I can't wait to set it up (patiently waiting for delivery !)
