I’m in the midlands, I’m looking to give my tank away, tried the local fish shop but they would only take it if I could drop it off. Does anyone know of a (fish based) charity that would take it off my hands?

Backstory - Bought an Aquastart 900 about 5 years ago and since then DS has gradually lost interest. I’ve stuck with the cleaning etc but not maintained the fish stock so that if any died I didn’t get a replacement. Realised this morning that the external Tetra filter has been leaking ( a slow drip, drip) so I then had to pull it all out to investigate. I’ve cleaned it but it’s still dripping and I just can’t be bothered anymore. I don’t want to spend any more time or money on something DS has effectively forgotten about. The water leak has affected the stand so I wouldn’t feel comfortable asking for money for it ( am I mad?), I just want it gone now.

Facebook marketplace? Or just stick it outside your front door with a big 'FREE' sign on it.
Don't think a charity will want it.

Sign up to Trash Nothing, it’s a mixture of Freecycle and Freegle in your local area, and you can set it to the area you choose so it can cover quite a wide range if you so wish.

A friend found a home for something she was agonising over throwing away, but couldn’t get anyone to take - she had several people queuing up to take it on Trash Nothing. You quite often see things that have minor faults on there so I wouldn’t worry too much about the leak, either.

Stick it on ebay. We got ours from there.
