Shrimp climbed out of the tank.

DD has a fishtank in her room with two danios and two shrimp. She's had them for about 18 months without any issues. However this morning she found both the shrimp on the carpet by the skirting boards a good metre from the tank. I cleaned the tank out on Thursday in exactly the same way as I usually do, filter is fine, water condition is good but I've read that they can sometimes do this if they decide they don't like the water conditions. One is very dead but the other moved when I picked it up so I've put it in a little tank to see if there's any hope for it but it doesn't look likely!

Has anyone had this before?

I used to work in a shop that sold shrimp and they would regularly climb out of the tank and we would find them a few metres away. They seemed to survive quite a long time out of the water in some cases also

I think they could have been out of the tank at since yesterday afternoon. I saw them at lunchtime then none of us were in there until she went to bed and she wouldn't have noticed. I feel bad because it's probably because of the change in water, but I change it every week! Poor things.
