Amano shrimp

Setting up a small tank for 2-4 Amano shrimp.

My step daughter has had her first baby and her stepson, 8 is coming to live with them.

They are always visiting us so we thought it would nice for the lad to have an interest at ours as the new baby gets a lot of attention.

He has expressed a liking for shrimps when we have taken them out to Sea Life etc.

Any personal recommendations or advice on keeping them? Thank you.

They are really sensitive to water changes and acclimatisation. They like driftwood and places to hide, lots of plants etc. I kept a few different types of coloured shrimp until my betta ate them all....

@reservoircats thank you ever so much for the info.

My husband isn’t that keen as I’m gathering as much info as possible before committing to a purchase.

Wouldn't a fish and shrimp be more interesting for him? Plus, the shrimp would be able to keep the tank clean and tidy. Smile
