I have a cold water tank 180L with an internal filter
I keep wondering about external filters. I know someone who is selling a jebao. When I search they are less expensive than I expected anyway
Are they easy to use. Does the water not pour out when you clean them
My fish live playing in a current so I would like to keep movement

When I moved my new 200 litre onto an external I was a bit concerned about how it all works and avoiding water on the floor, but it's fab! I have a Fluval external canister filter, I think mine is the 306, and there's a catch you flip over when you're taking it apart for cleaning which stops the tank emptying on to the floor. The hardest bit was working out where to cut the tubing!

Of course you have to make sure all the seals are fitted correctly and aren't deteriorating, same for the pipes. Some filters have notoriously short shelf lives and end up leaking. I think All Pond Solutions externals are guilty of that.
